Get to know Gabriel Lewis, Financial Analyst at All Native Group. Gabe creates reports and presentations for the executive team at ANG and Ho-Chunk Inc. and also coordinates with key players from each department to generate forecasts and budgets.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I enjoy that there are always new problems to solve. More of my time is spent doing something new rather than routine work. I also enjoy how much freedom I have been given to craft how my roll functions.
How long have you been with the company? How have you been able to grow professionally since you started?
I have been with ANG for two and half years. Working here has greatly increased my problem-solving abilities as well as provided many opportunities to work as part of, and to lead, a team.
What has been one of your favorite projects so far, and why?
Creating the budget each year always proves to be a fun challenge. Coordinating people from all across the company to get a clear picture of what we are expecting for the next year requires significant teamwork and coordination.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy hiking, as well as playing guitar, chess and pool.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
My middle name is Taw, which isn’t even really a name. Apparently, it is from a John Wayne Movie.
What insights or advice would you give to someone who is thinking about applying to work at ANG?
ANG is a very rewarding place to work. We are a fast-growing company that is continually evolving. With this, we redesign and rework rolls and responsibilities as we continue to develop and expand our processes. It will always be clear just how much you contribute and the difference you make.
What are you looking forward to in 2021?
Improving. My department already does so much, but there is ample opportunity for us to streamline what we do to improve our pace, consistency and eventually expand into new accomplishments.
