What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

What I enjoy most about the work I do is being able to work alongside others and build great relationships. Without those amazing team members and great leaders, my mission would fail. It takes a tribe of great people to continue to be successful.

How have you been able to grow personally and/or professionally since you started?

Having about 10 years of logistics experience both in the Marine Corps and in Department of State, ANG gave me an opportunity to become a Program Manager. Being the person I am, I’m always curious and want to learn more. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet amazing people within ANG that were always willing to share their knowledge, and I believe this has been the best contributor to my growth within the company. On a personal level, ANG has slowly pulled me out of my shell. I went from being someone who shied away from company events to now appreciating the value in them!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I’m big on family. I love spending time with my kids and want to enjoy time with them before they’re grown and think it’s no longer “cool” to spend time with their mom. I love hiking, finding beautiful swim holes, kayaking (beginner level), and last I want to travel and explore the wonders of the world.

What is something about you that might surprise people?

People are always surprised how I grew up. It’s different to many, but it’s also what I’m most proud of because it’s made me the person I am today. I grew up in a different country without many of today’s luxuries– electricity, running water or your normal grocery stores. We ate fruits and vegetables from the land, fished and hunted for food. While the country might have been going through a difficult time, it was the happiest memories for me. It molded me to who I am today and made me appreciate people as human beings not for their economic status.

Do you have anything you’re looking forward to?

Traveling! I just want to travel the world with loved ones and enjoy the time we have and be happy. Life is too short to not spread happiness; let happiness be contagious!
