Meet Rachel Baker!
Rachel was recently promoted to Proposal Manager with All Native Group. Her primary responsibility in her new role is to submit compliant, compelling, and winning proposals for ANG.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
My favorite part of each day is interacting with the people I love working with! In the proposal department we get the opportunity to interact across all departments of ANG. It’s a unique and great position to foster relationships across the company.
How have you been able to grow since you started?
I have grown so much both professionally and personally in my year and a half with ANG because the company fosters a culture of empowerment. I am always encouraged to ask questions, speak up, and suggest my ideas.
What has been one of your favorite projects so far, and why?
Each proposal we submit becomes my favorite for its own reasons. Because each proposal presents its own unique challenges and requirements, I learn something new about the company and the industry. One day I might be interviewing a Program Manager to learn about how they run their program, and other days I might be working with finance to understand how we invoice. Each proposal presents an opportunity to learn something new.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I am an avid reader! I also love to cook.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
Many people are surprised to learn that I have Saint Bernard Mastiff mix dog that weighs almost 150 pounds.
What has surprised you about working for ANG?
I am always pleasantly surprised how ANG focuses on the personal and professional growth of their employees. From day one, I have been encouraged to speak up. Regardless of your position, ANG encourages you to use your voice, suggest new and innovative ways of doing things, and speak up with your ideas.
Do you have anything you’re looking forward to?
Outside of work, I am looking forward to my wedding coming up in October of this year! As for work, I am looking forward to fully stepping into my new role as Proposal Manager and leading successful proposals to win more work for ANG and the Winnebago Tribe.
